A classmate of Natsuki's who works with Mai and Midori in the cafe. She has a crush on Kazuya, and tends to put her hair up in a short ponytail.

When fighting her ponytail becomes undone and her hair becomes shoulder length. Her element takes the form of a pair of tonfa's which allow her to create wind attacks while her child Harry takes the form of a tiger and attacks by sucking an enemy into its mouth and shredding them.

Akane was also the first to discover the consequences of a HiME losing a battle, and disappeared with Kazuya during the school festival.
