Gozu was a strong and mighty warrior, capable of cutting a tree in two with only the use of his spear hunter and his almost superhuman strength. As a Bianu Warrior, Gozu held great pride in his strength and wanted to die in battle.

After being mortally wounded from a gunshot by Sniper in the fourth phase of the 287th Hunter Exam, Gozu tracks down Hisoka and tries to fight him to the death. Despite Gozu's efforts, Hisoka refuses to fight the dying man. Targeted by Gittarackur, Gozu is soon after killed by him.
