Rika is the founder and manager of Harada Design. She ran it with her husband until he died in a car accident that happened on the opening night of one of the stores they designed. This accident left her badly scarred (both mentally and physically), and has damaged her legs so she is unable to walk for long periods without the help of a cane and medicine. She is good friends with Shuuji, for they, along with her late husband, were all very good friends in the past. It was her husband that befriended both her and Shuuji, having joined both of them in their apartment.
