The only possession left from his daughter was her shoe. He is now employed by Miranda at her agency as a bounty hunter. He is an extremely driven bounty hunter that doesn't mind "roughing up" his more seedy targets.
Solty immediately develops a fondness for Roy of which he initially does not return. He, in fact, vehemently tries to dissuade her from "following him around" or associating with him in any manner. He later, reluctantly, becomes her guardian.
