Chizuru's grandmother. She and Chizuru's grandfather took Chizuru in after her mother died and her father left. Sayuri suffers from a chronic illness which causes her to be frequently hospitalized.
It's later revealed that Sayuri used to be a famous movie star when she was younger which was part of what helped inspire Chizuru to want to pursue acting as well.
