Toshizo Hijikata is the "demon" Vice-Commander of the Shinsengumi.
Hijikata makes two brief appearances in the Tsuiokuhen OVA: First, immediately after the interrogation of Furutaka Shuntaro (Masuya) and during a meeting at Shinsengumi Headquarters, just right before the Shinsengumi's raid at Ikedaya.
